Broker Requirements

Settlement brokers must attest to five things to the U.S. Department of Justice:

• they are life insurance professionals licensed in the United States
• they’re licensed by at least one life insurance company to sell their structured settlement annuity products
• their insurance license has never been limited
• that they’re covered by errors and omissions insurance
• they haven’t been convicted of a felony
• substantial experience in providing structured settlement planning assistance in the last three years
